Features a CIP-configurable packet size from 500 bytes to 1996 bytes per packet Supports routing for communications with remote devices over various automation networks.Supports 256 channels and 1024 devices per channel. The Kepware product name is "Omron NJ Ethernet Driver" using Omron’s Sysmac NJ EtherNet/IP (CIP over Ethernet) protocol.
#KEPWARE MAINE DRIVERS#
Within KEPServerEX, the Omron Server Suite includes the new Omron NJ Ethernet driver as part of the bundled package of Omron device drivers Kepware has developed over the years. In this way, communication is clean and optimized, guaranteeing best performance.
#KEPWARE MAINE WINDOWS#
Because our solution uses a native driver, no additional middleware is required." The acronym "OPC" comes from "OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) for Process Control" and allows Windows programs to communicate with industrial hardware devices.Įach Omron Sysmac NJ controller embeds both EtherNet/IP and EtherCAT open networks, allowing endorsed partners like Kepware Technologies to create drivers using standard protocol instructions. "With important customers requesting support for the Omron Sysmac NJ controller in their OPC applications, Kepware coordinated with the Omron development team and leveraged Omron's built-in EtherNet/IP protocol to create a reliable and seamless communications platform.
#KEPWARE MAINE SOFTWARE#
"Kepware provides industry-leading communication and interoperability software solutions throughout the automation industry," said John Harrington, Product Manager - Manufacturing Solutions at Kepware. Omron’s partners and customers benefit by offering a best-in-class solution for integrating machine control with enterprise Historian, ERP, MES, and SCADA software, etc.

SCHAUMBURG, IL – Omron Automation and Safety ( announces the launch of Omron NJ Ethernet Driver in Kepware Technologies KEPServerEX version 5.15, an OPC communications platform that allows PC software to access controller data/variables with a streamlined and easy-to-use interface. Original Press Release: Kepware Supports Omron Sysmac NJ in Latest KEPServerEX Version
Support covers read blocking and multi-servicing of writes to arrays as well as symbolic addressing of basic data types and structures. Using Sysmac NJ CIP over Ethernet protocol, driver supports 256 channels and 1,024 devices per channel and features CIP-configurable packet size from 500–1,996 bytes/packet. To handle these requirements, ABB needed an automated communications platform that was highly reliable and that could easily scale and communicate massive amounts of data back for visualization and long-term storage in an enterprise historian.Omron NJ Ethernet Driver in Kepware Technologies KEPServerEX v5.15 embeds EtherNet/IP and EtherCAT open networks, allowing creation of drivers using standard protocol instructions. All this meant that the automation of data collection was a huge undertaking, since the project infrastructure was immense and constantly in flux.
It also needed to be able to reliably retrieve vast amounts of data from distant locations. With several new wells being introduced every day, ABB needed to be able to bring them on and off line in a highly streamlined and efficient manner furthermore, the method of configuring them needed to be simple, fast, and very reliable. Each of these wells have between 50 and 70 data points being scanned on a 30-second cycle time. The project called for between 1,000 and 1,500 well sites to come online in 2014, and beyond 6,000 by 2030, over an area of more than 4,500 km².
One of the biggest technical challenges ABB faced with this project was automating the collection of well data. Kepware is developing these solutions to help the IIoT deliver on its promise of improved operational efficiency through applications like preventative maintenance, energy monitoring, product lifecycle insights, and global production Tracking. KEPServerEX is evolving with the IIoT to support platform independence and new methods of data access-including support for web-based technologies and publish/subscribe messaging protocols. KEPServerEX provides a single integrated platform for collecting, aggregating, and providing secure access to your industrial operations data. Kepware’s industry-leading communications platform, KEPServerEX, delivers the most complete solution for device-to-cloud Interoperability. Interoperability is currently the greatest challenge facing the Internet of Things (IoT), and may be the missing link to implementing and realizing the value of many IIoT deployments. The IIoT requires technology that can solve the Interoperability challenges of device connectivity by reliably and securely delivering data across the public domain at a much larger scale than previously thought possible. The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is an evolution of existing technologies that enables end users to improve processes, drive productivity, and maintain an edge in our increasingly competitive global economy.
